Huế Launches Huế TRIPO, an AI Trip Planner That Builds Itineraries and Estimates Costs

The central city of Huế has launched Huế TRIPO, an artificial intelligence trip planner for tourists, at a conference on October 31 where the city People’s Committee also announced a tourism stimulus programme and new travel products, Tuổi Trẻ reported.

Through the platform, hosted on the city government’s hue.gov.vn domain, visitors can get suggested itineraries, estimate the cost of a trip, use automatic audio commentary, get help buying tickets and take online tours of attractions. Officials hope it will make it easier for travellers to design a trip and explore destinations before and during a visit.

Tourism numbers give the city reason to invest. Vice chairman of the city People’s Committee Trần Hữu Thùy Giang said Huế expected to welcome more than 6.9 million visitors in the first ten months of 2026, up 28.36% on a year earlier, including more than 2 million international arrivals. He also warned that global instability, energy prices, transport costs and economic uncertainty pose challenges, so the city needs stimulus policies and a refreshed product mix.

What it means in practice

Huế plans to grow medical and wellness tourism, food tourism, rainy-season travel and products tied to cultural and arts events. At the same conference it presented a plan to develop medical tourism for 2026–2030 with a vision to 2035, and the city tourism association signed agreements with health facilities. Organisers also introduced events planned for 2027, including the Huế Wonderverse Music Fest, the reality show The Hue Creators and an international light festival on June 11–13, 2027, with water mapping and drone shows.

Huế TRIPO adds to a run of local government AI services aimed at the public, from Lâm Đồng, which put AI robots in commune service centres to answer paperwork questions, to Hanoi’s Agent City initiative for AI agents in public services.

For visitors, the usefulness of such a planner will depend on how current its prices, opening hours and ticket links are, details that change often around festivals and in the rainy season.

What to watch next is how many visitors use the platform, whether it offers languages beyond Vietnamese for international guests, how accurate its cost estimates prove, and whether it links to bookings with local businesses.
