Science Ministry Says AI Public-Service Platform Is Now Live Across All Ministries and Provinces
Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology told its October 2026 press briefing on November 4 that a wide trial of the national AI platform for public-service work is now running at all 24 ministries and central agencies and all 34 localities, Chinhphu.vn reported. More than 539,000 accounts have been issued, turning what began as a limited pilot into a near-universal option for officials drafting, searching and handling routine administrative tasks.
Deputy minister Trần Trung Tính chaired the briefing, which also tallied progress under Resolution 57 and digital-government metrics such as linking seven specialised databases to the National Data Centre and publishing a shared data dictionary. The AI platform sits alongside those plumbing upgrades: without shared dictionaries and connected registries, an assistant for official work would have little trustworthy material to retrieve, and ministries would risk answers that cite outdated circulars.
Eligible systems in the trial have included locally built legal and administrative assistants from vendors such as MISA, Luật Việt Nam and CMC, reflecting Hanoi’s preference for Vietnamese-language tools that can run under government oversight. Officials have previously stressed that sandbox participation does not equal a licence to deploy in production without further review, a distinction that matters now that hundreds of thousands of accounts can reach the same stack.
What it means in practice
The scale-up dovetails with municipal experiments such as Hanoi’s Agent City initiative for AI agents in public services and with clarifications like the ministry’s warning that the generative-AI sandbox does not grant deployment rights. Ministries get a sanctioned channel for AI help; citizens should care whether answers cite the same connected databases the ministry just finished wiring up.
What to watch is which workflows move from trial accounts into measured time savings, how provinces with thinner connectivity perform, and whether the ministry publishes accuracy and appeal metrics before calling the platform fully operational.
